Upcoming Fall 2008 Meetings
- Informational Meeting
We will have our first meeting of the year in Kedzie 004 at 7:00 p.m on Tuesday, September 2. SFA officers and finance faculty will introduce themselves and plans for the year will be discussed.
- ConocoPhillips
SFA's first professional meeting of Fall 2008 will feature representatives from ConocoPhillips.

Representatives from Koch Industries will be hosting.

- Dr. John Graham
Dr. John Graham - Professor of Finance at K-State, CEO of Graham Capital Management, and Director of two publicly traded companies - concluded the spring meetings on Tuesday, April 29th at 7:00pm in Calvin 212. Dean Ebadi was also our guest and Famous Daves catered our meeting. SFA scholarships and Investing Competition Awards were handed out, and elections took place for next year's officers. SFA would like to thank Dr. Graham for speaking to the members of SFA. Descriptions of each Officer's position can be seen here. See you there!
- Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting
SFA took a 15 passenger van up to Omaha, NE again this year to attend Berkshire Hathaway's Annual Meeting. The trip was very successful.
- Capital Federal
Mr. Kent Townsend, CFO of Capital Federal was our guest on Tuesday, April 8th. Mr. Twonsend spent time with students discussing a variety of topics, including the current sub-prime problem, loan categories, security underwriting, and his role at Capital Federal. We greatly appreciate the time he spent with SFA and for the continued support of Kansas State.
- Waddell & Reed Luncheon

Waddell & Reed, a nationally recognized financial advisory firm hosted a free luncheon for students and faculty, presenting opportunities within their corporate office in addition to their financial services division. SFA would like to thank Waddell & Reed for providing students this opportunity to learn more about their industry and company.
- Stalla
Stalla presented information pertaining to the C.F.A. Exam Review and the services they offer to help prepare for the exam. We wish to thank them for visiting us and for their continued support of SFA.
- Commerce Bank
Commerce Bank's Assistant Vice Presidents Nick Warren and Kyle Area were our guests on Tuesday, March 11th at 7:00pm in Calvin 212.
- New York Trip
The spring semester trip to New York City took place from March 5th to 9th. This trip is continuously a highlight for SFA and we extend our appreciation to the K-State Alumni and others who make this trip possible.
- OCC
Office of the Comptroller of the Currency presented on Tuesday, February 19th. Thanks so much to them for taking time to speak with students regarding their structure and their interaction with banks.
- Telefund
For the 4th consecutive year, SFA was the top CBA volunteer student group participating in Telefund. A big Thank You to all members who volunteered!
- Cessna
Cessna presented and answered questions on Tuesday, January 29th with a huge audience of attentive K-State students. In addition, we had a short presentation over Telefund and the services at Career and Employment Services.
